Structural Analysis of Short Fiber Reinforced Plastics - Technical Paper

Short fiber reinforced plastics are often used for their great versatility in manufacturing in industries such as automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding, electronics and more. In this technical paper, the combination of two types of simulations are used to show how to correctly account of the specific details of the manufacturing process during the design phase. Injection molding simulations map the effects of the manufacturing process on the component, used then in mechanical simulations to obtain insights into the response of the structural part under consideration.

The mechanical simulations will be the focus of this work, which has the goal of providing an experimental validation for the new simulation workflow for short fiber reinforced plastics available within Ansys Workbench.
