Ansys nCode DesignLife

Course Overview

This course provides an introduction to the capabilities of Ansys nCode DesignLife that are included with a standard license. It covers the basics of using Ansys Mechanical with Ansys nCode DesignLife to assess structural durability.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of training course Ansys Mechanical Getting Started is required.
  • A background in fatigue theory is recommended, but not required.

Target Audience

All engineers that deal with issues of structural fatigue and durability.

Teaching Method

Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge.

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Apply the stress-life analysis approach to predict the fatigue life of structures that deform in the linear material range.
  • Apply powerful material mapping, load mapping, and duty cycle techniques to create accurate and realistic models of complicated fatigue scenarios.
  • Apply the strain-life analysis approach to predict the fatigue life of structures that deform in the nonlinear material range.
