Ansys SpaceClaim Meshing for FEA (Self-paced Learning Available)

Course Overview

This course is designed for FEA users of Ansys SpaceClaim that would like to benefit from its Meshing capabilities. SpaceClaim Meshing uses the Mesh ribbon in Ansys SpaceClaim to generate the mesh on some or all the parts of your geometry before importing the model into Ansys Mechanical for solver simulation. With this SpaceClaim Meshing tool, you will be able to get 100% hex mesh on complicated CAD geometries. You will be introduced to the different tools and block types. You will also learn the different meshing approaches. Finally, template modeling, a technique to automate hex meshing, will be presented.

Prerequisites

  • A good knowledge in Ansys SpaceClaim is required: Introduction to Ansys SpaceClaim course.
  • A good knowledge in Geometry decomposition to get 100% hex mesh is a big plus.

Target Audience

Designers and Engineers who want to mesh their geometries with 100 hex elements and willing to use the same tool for CAD preparation and for meshing; so that the mesh will update automatically with the geometry.

Teaching Method

Lectures and hands-on workshops giving you the knowledge and experience you will need to confidently apply what you have learned to your own designs.

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to;

  • Activate the Mesh ribbon in Ansys SpaceClaim, how to use the different related tools and the different display options.
  • Mesh some parts in SpaceClaim and other parts in Ansys Meshing.
  • Get 100% hex elements using the mesh tools in Ansys SpaceClaim: split, associate, blend, pull, move...
  • Use the geometry decomposition approach to get 100% hex mesh.
  • Use the bounding box decomposition approach to get 100% hex mesh.
  • Use the match tool to get periodic mesh.
  • Use the template modeling to save the blocking from one model and reuse it with another more complex model.
