Ansys Mechanical
Commands Objects

Course Overview

This course is the stepping-stone to understanding Ansys Mechanical at its core and unleashing its full potential.

The course reveals the relationship between the Mechanical user interface and the core Ansys solver. The content of a Mechanical model, as the solver sees it, is a list of commands.  With every new release of Ansys, advancements in element and solver technology become available, as commands, but those capabilities don’t often appear in Mechanical until several releases later.  Once you have the knowledge of how the Ansys command language operates, you can tap into all the capabilities Ansys has to offer.

Prerequisites

Teaching Method

Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge.

Learning Outcome

Following successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • understand the relationships among the Workbench environment, Mechanical models, and the corresponding definition of those models in Mechanical APDL (MAPDL) solver terms.
  • use Ansys Parametric Design Language (APDL)command language inside Ansys Mechanical, gaining access to advanced features.
  • learn how to use the MAPDL graphical user interface to verify and postprocess models, gaining access to results quantities that may otherwise be unavailable within Mechanical.
  • gain an understanding of APDL command syntax, as well as APDL scalar and array parameters, enabling the export of results data to any format desirable.
