Ansys Mechanical Beam Modeling (Self-paced Learning Available)

Course Overview

This course is designed for users of Ansys Mechanical that have a need to use beam modeling techniques for structural analysis.

Knowledge of the dedicated preprocessing and postprocessing tools associated with line bodies and beam elements gained from this course enables users to run a Static Structural analysis using beam elements.

The supporting theoretical background is included along with a review of dedicated elements, geometry, connections, and postprocessing tools.

Prerequisites

Teaching Method

Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge. A training certificate is provided to all attendees who complete the course.

Learning Outcomes

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify scenarios where using Beam Elements can reduce computational costs while capturing the intended structural behavior.

  • Model the geometry using Line Bodies and assign the proper section and element behavior to them.

  • Construct a well-connected beam element model using shared topology, contact, joint or mesh connection methods.

  • Explore several postprocessing tools to obtain the appropriate results of interest from the Beam Elements.
