Ansys RaptorX: How to Create RaptorX Techfiles 

Course Overview

This course will provide guidelines on enabling RaptorX, the Ansys silicon-optimized electromagnetic solver, for a particular foundry technology. This is achieved through a process configuration tool that runs in GUI and batch mode. All required steps to generate a RaptorX technology enablement will be covered through a hands-on example for a 16-metal process.

Prerequisites

  • Basic understanding of IC design flows and RaptorX. 
  • Some general familiarity with Process Design Kits.

Target Audience

AMS, RF IC/high-speed digital SoC designers, CAD engineers

Teaching Method

Slide presentation and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge. 

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand how RaptorX supports foundry tech files. 
  • Select appropriate PDK inputs for building the RaptorX technology files. 
  • Distinguish the various implementation options offered in Process Configurator and select accordingly. 
  • Use Process Configurator in both UI and batch mode to enable RaptorX on a particular technology. 
  • Set up a complete user environment for RaptorX.
  • Run sanity checks for the generated RaptorX tech files.

  • Process Configurator example with iRCX in batch mode: Review inputs and outputs (RaptorX tech files).
  • Process Configurator Batch mode vs UI: Decide which flow is better suited to requirements.
