Course Overview

This training module gives you the initial steps to perform Item Definition, Hazard and Risk Assessment (HARA), Safety Goals and Requirements elicitations, Qualitative FTAs and System Models.

 

Prerequisites

Teaching Method:

A major emphasis is placed on teaching to use the software and to develop an initial functional safety project from scratch.

  • Creating an Item Definition with block architecture and functions
  • Performing Guidewords analysis
  • Defining Operation Situation Catalogs and performing the HARA
  • Specification of Safety Goals
  • Executing qualitative FTA as method for requirements elicitation
  • Requirements creation and derivation
  • Specification of Functional Safety Architecture using SysML

This is a 1 day classroom course covering both lectures and hands-on practical work. For virtual training, this course is covered over 2 x 2 hour sessions.

    • Getting started with medini analyze
    • General user interface of medini analyze
    • Creation of models and requirements
    • Performing safety analysis according to ISO26262 Part 3

    Live Classroom Day 1

    • Module 1 – Introduction to medini analyze UI
    • Module 2 – Item Definition with Functions and Malfunctions creation
    • Module 3 – HARA and Guideword Analysis
    • Module 4 – Safety Goals Derivation and creation
    • Module 5 – Safety Requirements
    • Module 6 – Qualitative FTA
    • Module 7 – Architecture Modelling

    All modules are based on the same example: The Electronic Steering Lock (ESL) which is part of the medini installation.
