Stop Lamp Design in Ansys Speos Software (Self-paced Learning Available)

Course Overview

This self-paced course demonstrates how to design a simple CHMSL (Center High Mounted Stop Lamp) using the Ansys Speos® CAD integrated optical and lighting simulation software Optical Part design tool.  

You will use the optical surface tool to create a pillow reflector and couple it with a LED and a lens to create the whole optical system. You will also see how to create a series of reflectors, trim them and cut them using an edge.

After that, you will create an intensity sensor and launch a simulation to check if the result complies with the automotive regulation.

  • Ansys Speos Optical Part Design Basics
  • Ansys Speos Optical Part Design Advanced

Teaching Method

Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge. A training certificate is provided to all attendees who complete the course.

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Design the reflector of the CHMSL, apply optical properties and create light sources.
  • Create a sensor and apply a template to check the automotive regulation.
  • Create and run a simulation.
  • Check the result and the regulation.
