Course Overview

The Ansys Zemax Aspheres and Freeform training series is a specific course about optical design using optical components with shapes that are not bound by rotational symmetry and support higher order curves and localized profiles offer unique design challenges.

Prerequisites

  • Knowledge of fundamental optical concepts.
  • Experience in the use of OpticStudio is assumed.

Teaching Method

This is a self-paced course covering lectures, demonstrations, and workshops. A training certificate is provided to all attendees who complete the course.

Learning Outcomes

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Discover what aspheric and freeform surfaces are available in Zemax OpticStudio.
  • Learn how to Optimize and Tolerance those advanced surfaces.
  • Practice designing a TMA telescope and an imaging prism with freeforms.
