Switching Between Implicit and Explicit Analysis in Ansys LS-DYNA Software

Course Overview

Ansys LS-DYNA® nonlinear dynamics structural simulation software features the most powerful explicit solver on the market, with many applications within highly advanced non-linear finite element analyses, for example, automotive safety, process simulation and biomechanics. Ansys LS-DYNA software also features a highly capable implicit solver, for handling large deformation, complex contact situations and even material failure. In this Training Webinar, you will be presented with different options for combining these two solvers to achieve outstanding simulation results, using the best properties of each solver for different phases of your simulation.

Prerequisites

  • Basic knowledge of Ansys LS-DYNA software or prior completion of the Introduction to Ansys LS-DYNA software course is recommended.

Teaching Method

Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge.

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Overview the different approaches for combining the implicit and explicit mechanical solver of Ansys LS-DYNA software.
  • Set up simulation models with appropriate boundary conditions and contacts for conveniently switching between the implicit and explicit mechanical solver.
