Multiphase Flow Modeling using Discrete Phase Model (DPM) (Self-paced Learning Available)

Course Overview

This course describes the basic concepts involved in the DPM and the circumstances under which it should be used.

Prerequisites

  • This course assumes that you have completed Fluent Getting Started training and are already familiar with single phase flow in Ansys Fluent.

Teaching Method

Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge.

Learning Outcome

Following completion of the course, you will be able to:

  • Understand important concepts involved in the Discrete Phase Model (DPM).
  • Setup and activate the DPM multiphase model in the Ansys Fluent software.
  • Define DPM specific Boundary conditions and Particle injections.
  • Post process results using DPM Particle tracks and Report definitions.
  • Understand the use of Advanced DPM like Dense Discrete Phase Model (DDPM), Macroscopic Particle Model (MPM), Erosion modeling, etc.
  • Setup and solve DPM simulation tutorial on Spray paint analysis in Ansys Fluent software.
