Flow and Blend Time Simulation in a Mixing Tank: Sliding Mesh Setup and Visualization (Self-paced Learning Available)

Course Overview

In this course, building on the material from the course “Flow and Blend Time Simulation in a Mixing Tank, Steady-State Flow Transient-Tracer Method”, you will learn how to set up sliding mesh simulation to predict the blend time of two materials in a mixing tank using Ansys Fluent® fluid simulation software. You will perform the transient simulation using the existing case and data files from the steady-state simulation to setup the sliding mesh approach, followed by a rigorous post-processing using Ansys EnSight simulation data visualization software.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of Ansys Fluent Getting Started: Basics 
  • Completion of Flow and Blend Time Simulation in a Mixing Tank, Steady-State Flow Transient-Tracer Method 

Teaching Method

Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge. A major emphasis is placed on teaching by software demonstration and on the development of a solution to a design challenge from start to finish.

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Set up and run a transient sliding mesh simulation using Ansys Fluent software to predict the blend time.
  • Use Ansys EnSight software to post-process and visualize the results.
