Ansys Sound – ASD Getting Started

Course Overview

This course explains the workflow of Engine Sound Enhancement with the help of the different tools such as ASD GeneBOX, ASD Designer and ASD FRF (Frequency Response Function). ASD GeneBOX is dedicated to the synthesis of engine partials inside a vehicle using the embedded sound diffusion system (car audio system), ASD Designer is dedicated to the design of the sound enhancement of engine noise, and ASD FRF is dedicated to the measurement of the Frequency Response Function (FRF) of a car cabin, using its native audio system. 

Prerequisites

Teaching Method

Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge.

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Characterize the orders produced by the vehicle.
  • Characterize of the transfer function of the system between the sound synthesizer output (digital synthesis) and the microphone position.
  • Design a sound enhancement by either starting from scratch or using the order analysis of another vehicle recording as a target sound.
