Associative Design From 3D CAD To 2D Analysis Via ANSYS DesignModeler
ANSYS DesignModeler is a powerful tool to simplify any existing CAD geometry for finite element simulation. This demo shows how a 3D geometry can be defeatured to create an axisymmetric simulation model. It also shows how ANSYS Workbench manages dimensions from the CAD system through the simulation process: CAD parameters are transferred to ANSYS DesignModeler then to the simulation environment. Upon a parameter change in the CAD system or at the simulation level, the full process can be replayed, from geometry defeaturing to the simulation of the axisymmetric model.
