Introduction to Ansys EMA3D Cable (Self-paced Learning Available)

Course Overview

The Introduction to Ansys EMA3D Cable Self-Paced course covers the fundamental concepts of Ansys EMA3D Cable starting in SpaceClaim. This course provides guidance on how to design basic geometries, set up cable harness and excitations and simulate full platform level Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Interference (EMI) projects. Several step-by-step tutorials are provided, instructing the user how to setup and solve shielding effectiveness, crosstalk, radiated immunity, and lightning strike projects.

Prerequisites

  • Knowledge of electromagnetics theory.

Target Audience

Electronic engineers working with EMC certification and Cable design.

Teaching Method

This self-paced course uses short video tutorials and training materials to guide you through each problem.

Learning Path

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Design simple primitives
  • Import geometry and assign material properties
  • Design a cable harness including twisted cables and shielding
  • Setup excitations such as current differential and differential voltage on cables, plane waves and current density on surfaces
  • Construct the domain required to perform the simulation
  • Setup current, voltage, and field probes
  • Post process fields in time and frequency domain
  • Create field animations in time domain
