Ansys Maxwell Magnets

Course Overview

The Ansys Maxwell Magnets workshops practice magnetization types: radial, trapezoidal, peripheral-tangential and cartesian. There are workshops on Halbach arrays and cylinders as well as demagnetization due to fault conditions and due to temperature. The final workshop simulates the real process of magnetic magnetization with a pulse signal.

Prerequisites

  • Knowledge of electromagnetics including magnetic properties of materials.
  • Maxwell Getting Started or prior Maxwell or Ansys Electronics Desktop (AEDT) experience is recommended.

Teaching Method

Hands-on simulation workshops build familiarity and productive skill in using Maxwell for static magnet applications.

Learning Outcome

Following completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Set up various magnet simulation configurations.
  • Explore magnetization and demagnetization.
