Enhancements to Bolt Modeling in ANSYS Mechanical and MAPDL - Webinar
Threaded bolt connections are a common structural component in many industrial applications and most of these connections are subjected to pre-tensioning conditions. To accurately assess the operating integrity of the components, the effect of the bolts must be included in the simulation. Traditional techniques require significant user effort and computational resources. ANSYS Mechanical and MAPDL 15.0 introduce a capability to account for the effect of threaded bolts without explicitly modeling the threads. This enhancement greatly reduces the required effort to create the model and the computer resources required to solve it.
