ANSYS Convergence Webinar Series: Automatic Evaluation of External Heat Transfer Coefficients through ANSYS ACT: Application to Subsea Equipment - Webinar

FMC Technology performs extensive thermal simulations for many different components used in the subsea oil and gas industry. The essential process of setting up an external convection boundary condition is often complex. The realistic film coefficient varies with geometric configuration, with the temperature difference between the equipment wall and the surrounding fluid stream, and with time (for a transient thermal analysis).

In this presentation, FMC Technology will describe an ANSYS Customization Toolkit (ACT) extension that we have developed to significantly streamline this process.
