Ferrari Improves GT Aerodynamics Using ANSYS Fluent

For GT racing, Ferrari uses ANSYS’ Mosaic-enabled poly-hexcore meshing when performing CFD simulations to optimize the aerodynamic design of its race cars. Mosaic meshing is 4X faster than conventional mesh types, so Ferrari engineers can run 3X the number of simulations before race day. Substituting simulation for wind tunnel testing saves Ferrari time and money while reducing aerodynamic drag, giving the team a better chance to get to the winner’s circle each week.
