• No velocity slip between particles and flue gas
• CFD-based model without such implifications
– Based on first principles (conservation laws)
– Considers adsorption of Hg(o) and HgCl2
– Known partitioning between these species (oxidation fraction) used as model input
• Full-scale application
– GE Energy demonstration of activated carbon injection system
– Successfully achieved 70% Hg removal
– Model applied to examine full-scale results
