Simulation leads to developing faster tire balancing machines - Case Study
QuEST Global helped Hennessy Industries to design a frame for a tire-balancing machine that would balance automobile wheels in a shorter period of time. The team needed to attenuate the noise generated by the frame during the start of the balance cycle so that the machine's sensors could determine whether any "out of balance" exists in the wheel assembly.. ”
Using simulation software from ANSYS, QuEST Global was able to evaluate many design changes to develop a new frame for a tire balancing machine — more quickly and efficiently than could have been accomplished with standard build and test methods. The company was able to meet Hennessey Industries’ objective of a 50 percent reduction in time to develop an acceptable balancer chassis.
