Designing an Optimized Racing Longboard with ANSYS AIM - Application Brief

The ideal racing longboard maximizes stiff ness and minimizes weight. ANSYS AIM simulation was used to determine the ideal number of plies of material in a racing longboard to optimize this flex–weight ratio that was determined to be fi ve plies for maple longboards and six plies for bamboo longboards. A physical experiment validated the simulations.
