Dependence of Composite Stiffness and Strength Properties on Temperature Draping Shear and Imperfections

The new composite workflow released with ANSYS Workbench and ANSYS Composite PrepPost17.0 enables you to define up to nine dependencies of the elasticity parameters (Young’s moduli and Poisson’s ratios) as well as the failure criteria (stress and strain limits) to scalar fields. The material’s local effective properties are evaluated during the structural analysis and subsequent post-processing based on the state of the fields used to describe them. This brief presents an example of the nose and front wing of a racing car to illustrate step by step how you can include temperature, shear and your own dependencies of the composite mechanical properties into your analyses.
