Ansys 2022 R1: What's New in Ansys Additive

Ansys 2022 R1 continues to expand toolsets for Ansys Additive Manufacturing users, streamlining your workflows  among design, simulation, and manufacturing.  In addition, every Ansys Mechanical user can now identify and minimize risk for builder errors and ensure high-quality parts through process simulation for metal powder bed fusion (PBF), directed energy deposition (DED), and sintering (SLS)

What you will learn

  • Workflow speed improvements — fully threaded solver support, multi-platform additive wizard support, MAPDL solver enhancements, and seamless transfer from Ansys Additive Products to Ansys Workbench and Ansys Mechanical.
  • More engineering capabilities for power bed fusion (PBF) — double the solver speed for scan patterns simulation, paired with an expanding material library.
  • Streamlined workflows with directed energy deposition (DED) — introducing DED simulation to the Ansys Additive Portfolio, providing capabilities from predicting macro-level temperature distortions and stresses to prevent build failures. Also provides trend data for improving designs for additive manufacturing, including part orientation and part build order.
  • Expanded manufacturing possibilities through sintering (beta) — expanding the process simulation portfolio to identify, compensate, and optimize the additive manufacturing process through simulation, minimizing build failure, and ensuring high-quality parts.

Who should attend

This webinar should be attended by AM machine operators, design engineers, mechanical engineers, material scientists, process engineers, and analysts.

They will get insights on the value of additive simulation to minimize production risks and ensure high quality parts, plus understand how Ansys Additive software can be applied to various use cases.
