The latest release of ANSYS Version 11.0 includes the releases of ANSYS CFX 11.0 computational fluid dynamics software, ANSYS TurboGrid 11.0 rotating machinery meshing tool and ANSYS BladeModeler 11.0 software for design of bladed rows.
Some of the highlights include:
Fluid Structure Interaction using the ANSYS Workbench Platform: The coupling of ANSYS CFX and ANSYS software continues to improve and this release will allow setup of a full two-way fluid structure interaction simulation (coupling the ANSYS and CFX solvers) using the ANSYS Workbench engineering simulation platform.
Parametric Studies: This new release contains the first implementation of the ability to perform ANSYS CFX parametric studies using the ANSYS Workbench platform.
ANSYS Meshing: The ANSYS Workbench platform exposes meshing technologies in a common meshing application, customizable for the user’s physics and solver requirements. Swept meshing and part-by-part meshing method controls are introduced.
Turbomachinery: The ANSYS TurboSystem provides assisted workflow for performing a single blade passage turbomachinery simulation using the ANSYS Workbench platform. In addition, ANSYS BladeModeler now includes initial sizing capability for pumps and compressors and ANSYS TurboGrid has the ability to mesh splitters and tandem vanes.

The latest release includes enhancements for turbomachinery design and simulation as well as fluid structure interaction. The figure shows an axial inducer with CFD velocity vectors and metal stress calculation.
