ANSYS ED 10.0

ANSYS ED is a student-level product for both academic and commercial users. It offers an affordable introduction to ANSYS Inc.'s product capabilities for simulation and virtual prototyping, and includes many of the features available in the full commercial ANSYS Multiphysics and ANSYS LS-DYNA product combination.

Note that the ANSYS ED product is intended to solve relatively basic numerical analysis problems and has both geometry and numerical problem size limits (ANSYS ED should is not suitable for commercial evaluation purposes where typically far larger numerical problem sizes are required).

Using ANSYS ED you can perform basic structural and thermal analyses, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), low and high frequency electromagnetics and optimization studies within a single product environment. Both our traditional ANSYS "PREP7" GUI and the ANSYS Workbench environment are provided (DesignModeler, Simulation & DesignXplorer), together with several mechanical CAD geometry interfaces.

The most popular use of the ANSYS ED product is by students who are learning numerical simulation methods. Many universities have developed their own tutorials intended to fit within the ANSYS ED problem size limits. When you're ready to step up to even more simulation power, you can easily upgrade your ANSYS ED product to higher-level ANSYS applications. See here for our full range of Academic products.

Note: The ANSYS ED product uses a click wrap license agreement without the need for a separate license key. The most current release of the ANSYS ED product is 10.0, there will not be a release 11.0. Our next release of ANSYS ED will be Release 12.0.

ANSYS ED 10.0 Example Problems - Using the ANSYS Workbench Environment

ANSYS ED 10.0 is the first release of the ANSYS ED product that uses the ANSYS Workbench Environment. This environment provides a more modern & intuitive GUI than our traditional GUI. The example problems below showcase three products (DesignModeler, Simulation and DesignXplorer) which are integrated as part of ANSYS Workbench Environment in ANSYS ED 10.0.

Example Problem Description
ANSYS ED Workbench Database Files
Nonlinear Structural analysis of a bracket
Static Structural and Modal Analysis of a Parasolid Linkage Model
Nonlinear Structural Analysis of a Shell Model
Nonlinear Snap Fit Analysis
Thermal-mechanical Analysis of an Interference Fit Model
Design Optimization Study of a Modal Analysis of a Wing Tip
