Overview
Building on our exploration of photonic component design for optical fiber-to-chip coupling systems, this live virtual workshop offers a unique opportunity for attendees to get hands-on with the full system design workflow. Guided by Ansys Optics experts, participants will work step-by-step through the process of designing analyzing, and optimizing fiber-to-chip coupling systems using Ansys software—working up from individual components such as microlenses and edge couplers to complete system integration.
Attendees will engage directly with Ansys’s industry-leading tools, learning hands-on how to model optical fiber-to-chip coupling, analyze the effects of misalignment, and optimize power transfer and packaging reliability. The session draws on practical examples, including the use of Zemax OpticStudio for physical optics propagation, Lumerical MODE and Lumerical FDTD for simulating guided modes and system performance under realistic conditions, and OptiSLang for co-design automation and optimization.
Attendees Will Learn
- Hands-on guidance through the design workflow for fiber-to-chip coupling systems, from components to integrated systems
- Practical modeling and simulation exercises based on real-world fiber-to-chip coupling scenarios
- Step-by-step instruction on using Ansys Zemax OpticStudio and the Ansys Lumerical suite of tools to address alignment, packaging, and power loss challenges
- Live support and interaction with Ansys Optics experts
- Opportunities to ask questions and troubleshoot designs in real time
Whether you’re looking to strengthen your technical skills or accelerate your photonic projects, this workshop will empower you to scale your designs from the building blocks to robust, industry-ready systems.
