Fundamentals of Phase Diagrams with Ansys Granta EduPack Software

Phase diagrams are an integral part of materials science and engineering, showing how composition, temperature, and pressure influence phases present during alloy formation. Because of this, learning how to read a phase diagram is skill relevant across many industries. However, reading these diagrams and calculations that go with them such as the Lever Rule can be challenging for early year students.

This package utilizes information from Ansys Granta EduPack™ teaching software for materials education and a variety of visuals to explain the basic concepts of phase diagrams and how they are used practically in materials engineering. A variety of resources are included to allow for flexibility in curriculum integration.
