Overview
Pumps are an integral, albeit often overlooked, tool in daily life, acting as a critical component in applications ranging from HVAC systems to ultra-high vacuum chambers. Improved pump designs can benefit both suppliers and consumers with higher efficiencies, safer operation, and longer lifetimes. However, testing and evaluating new pump designs can be prohibitively expensive. There is also intrinsic risk in altering a trusted design when pumps can be deployed for years before replacement. To reduce this associated cost and risk, engineers frequently use advanced modeling and simulation (M&S) techniques to understand and develop new pump designs. This computational approach is only increasing in popularity with expanding computational resources and algorithms.
M&S techniques can be hamstrung by the need for convoluted and manual steps to vary designs, long simulation times, the seemingly infeasible nature of deployment, and uncertain connections to data science techniques. In this webinar, we show how these issues can be minimized or eliminated, accelerating the design and deployment process of pumps. We will discuss automation, exploration, reduction, and application, as well as the presentation of successful use cases and applications. These range from the development of streamlined, multi-disciplinary pump simulation workflows to a system/digital twin deployment.
