This virtual hands-on workshop will show how structural, thermal, optical perfomance analysis (STOP) is essential to model as-built performance in critical designs. However, these workflows can be cumbersome and lengthy due to complex data exchange between multiple physics solvers. This can make analysis, optimization, and tolerancing intractable.

In this workshop, we will leverage Ansys optiSLang to automate an optomechanical workflow by coupling Ansys Mechanical & Ansys Zemax for analysis of non-uniform deformation and temperature distributions affecting the optical performance. We will also explore how we can leverage training "meta-models" to reduce the computation necessary for optimization/tolerancing by orders of magnitude.
