Understanding Conduction and Convection through Ansys Fluent Software
This study utilizes Ansys Fluent® fluid simulation software to simulate conjugate heat transfer involving conduction in a solid aluminum plate and convection in a flowing water stream. The computational setup includes a precisely meshed 3D domain with shared topology to ensure thermal continuity across the fluid-solid interface. Governing equations for fluid flow and heat transfer are solved simultaneously, capturing temperature gradients and boundary layer behavior accurately. Simulation aids in visualizing real-world heat exchange mechanisms and provides insights into the role of Nusselt, Reynolds, and Prandtl numbers in forced convection systems.
