Overview

The automotive industry’s rapidly expanding use of LS-DYNA across diverse applications has significantly increased the need for a strong, integrated NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) solution within the solver. In response, LS-DYNA introduced a comprehensive suite of frequency-domain vibration, fatigue, and acoustic solvers over the past 15 years. This package—covering FRF analysis, steady-state dynamics, random vibration, response spectrum analysis, vibration-based fatigue, and multiple acoustic methods including FEM, BEM, SEM, and SEA—has been widely adopted by customers and continues to evolve based on their feedback. In recent years, many targeted improvements and extensions have been implemented to enhance accuracy, usability, and performance across NVH workflows. This presentation provides a focused overview of the latest developments within the NVH solvers and illustrates their practical benefits through selected application examples.
