From OpticStudio to Speos: Camera Models with Diffraction Effects

Join our webinar for an introduction to compact lens system design In Zemax OpticStudio capturing distortion, geometric and chromatic aberrations, and now diffraction followed by importing the design directly into Speos for full-scene camera simulation at dramatically faster speeds than full-geometry approaches.

Overview

This webinar introduces a workflow for creating camera reduced order models (ROMs) in Ansys Zemax OpticStudio and using them in Ansys Speos for system-level image simulation. The session shows how lens designs can be converted into compact models that capture distortion, geometric and chromatic aberrations, and diffraction effects, then imported into Speos for full-scene analysis. Attendees will see how this approach supports earlier image quality validation without requiring full optical geometry or physical prototypes.

What Attendees Will Learn

  • How to generate camera ROMs in OpticStudio including diffraction effects
  • How to transfer ROMs from OpticStudio into Speos
  • What image effects are captured in the reduced model
  • How ROM-based simulation supports system-level camera validation
  • Example use cases in camera design and image quality assessment

Who Should Attend

  • Optical Engineers
  • Optical System Designers
