Validating Finite Element Simulations Through Physical Testing

Many factors can lead to incorrect predictions from a simulation. One of the most common is using the incorrect material properties of a component in a finite element analysis (FEA). This can occur if faulty information is provided in the manufacturer’s data sheet or if the data just doesn’t exist.

In this webinar you will learn why an electronic assembly might fail reliability testing even when the FEA simulation predicts it should pass. We will give examples of physical tests that can be performed to ensure that realistic material properties are used in reliability testing and teach you how to define material properties when incomplete data is provided.
