The Art of Simulation Image Competition

Announcing our winners

In 2020, we asked you — our customers and student community — to submit your best simulation images and applications, so that we could showcase your achievements and get a glimpse into how you’re leveraging Ansys software to engineer what’s ahead. Our internal Ansys judges reviewed the hundreds of submissions and determined this year’s qualifying images that moved on to the public voting portion of the competition, which was open until mid-December.

Now, the votes have been tallied and the simulation community has spoken. Congratulations to our six category winners!

    Simulation explanation: Air simulation in Rituja’s apartment: Wind coming inside the apartment from the window and balcony door is simulated, as well as the effect of a rotating fan.

    Simulation explanation: Multiple parameters (WSS, pressure gradient summation) of a loop for dialysis access, precisely presenting the predilection areas of vessel wall changes evidenced by histology.

    WINNER: Rahul Singh, engineer at BRP

    Simulation explanation: Development of a 300HP 2-Stroke Outboard marine engine. Multiple simulations were run to account for heating, cooling, pressure and fatigue, among others.
