Ansys Granta MI Pro makes it easy to build a materials database that combines company-approved proprietary data with valuable reference data from Ansys Granta. The database is accessible through embedded apps in NXTM or Creo® CAD or Ansys Workbench® CAE. Engineers can search materials and assign to their CAD or CAE model in just a few clicks. They can also use a web app to access more detailed property data, reviewing and comparing materials before assignment. Additional benefits include:
- Apply the associated data using density data for weight roll-ups in CAD or complex materials models to support advanced simulations.
- Easily reapply assignments made in CAD into CAE.

Ansys Granta MI 2026 R1 introduces radar plots, enhanced record comparison with color-coded differences, Record Tree browsing, dark and light themes, Schema Editor improvements, and a connected QuantumATK-Rocky workflow for battery calendaring simulation.
UX Enhancements
This release brings powerful new visualization tools including radar plots, color-coded side-by-side comparisons, Record Tree browsing, and selectable dark and light themes. Engineers can now compare materials at a glance, spot critical differences instantly, and navigate complex data hierarchies effortlessly, making faster, more confident material decisions.
Schema Editor
In this release, the MI Pro database has been renamed to "Design and Simulation Materials" database and we are bringing the ability to make limited changes to the schema of this database. Engineers can now make customizations to their materials schema, enabling greater flexibility to tailor the database to their specific workflows.
