Safer Electric Vehicles with Battery Management Systems

Electric propulsion is revolutionizing mobility technologies in the automotive industry. The Battery Management System (BMS) is a critical component with several engineering challenges. Batteries need to charge efficiently, store energy effectively, and operate safely to deliver reliable performance over years of usage.

In this session, Ansys will present a complete solution for developing and verifying an automotive BMS. Model-based simulation is used to produce critical embedded software, which brings hardware and software teams into closer collaboration, producing an integrated system that meets industry safety objectives and design goals.

Senior Application Engineer, Ansys

Dr. Abdi Zeynu, Senior Application Engineer at Ansys Inc., has more than 15 years of experience in electrical engineering, starting with bachelor’s studies in electrical engineering at the Bahirdar University in Ethiopia. Abdi conducted his masters and doctoral studies in electrical engineering: systems at the University of Michigan. He started his career at Ansys as an application engineer, supporting customers from different industries, in Model Based Control Software development. He is also contributing to design projects as part of the Ansys electrification system, platform and integration solutions.
