Computational modeling and simulation (CM&S) of cardiovascular devices and their working environment — the human body and heart — is the most promising way to accelerate and amplify medical innovation while limiting the risk for the patients through in silico research, in silico testing, and in silico clinical trials.

Thierry Marchal

Program Director Healthcare

Thierry Marchal is the Program Directeur and Chief Technologist EMEA for healthcare at Ansys to drive in silico research around the world; he is the President and Secretary General of the Avicenna Alliance to assist the regulatory authorities toward a large scale acceptation of computational modeling and simulation; he is also an eHealth expert to the European Commission to advice the authorities for personalized, predictive and preventive medicine for the patients.

Marc Horner, Ph.D.

Distinguished Engineer

Dr. Marc Horner is a Distinguished Engineer leading technical initiatives for the healthcare industry at Ansys. Marc joined Ansys after earning his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University in 2001. Marc currently holds a number of industry leadership positions, with a focus on model credibility frameworks, regulatory science, and clinical applications. These include Vice Chair of the ASME VVUQ-40 Sub-Committee and Avicenna Alliance Global Harmonization Task Force Leader.

Lakshana Mohee, Ph.D.

Senior Academic Program Engineer, Healthcare

Lakshana Mohee is the Healthcare Academic Program Lead of the Academic Program at Ansys. She leads and supports healthcare related initiatives across universities, hospitals and medical schools. She also develops educational resources relevant for teaching as well as collaborates with faculty on key research areas. She joined Ansys in 2018 after she graduated from the University of Cambridge with a PhD in Biomedical Materials for Tissue Engineering. Prior to that, she did her undergraduate and master's degrees in Materials Science and Engineering and Biotechnology respectively in INSA Rennes, France.
