What Is the Challenge?

The 3-Week AI-Powered Design Challenge is a self-paced virtual program designed to move participants from foundational understanding to practical application of AI-powered design.

 

How the Challenge Works

  • Up to 5 hours of guided virtual lab access

  • 3 structured weekly challenges

  • Weekly 1-hour live office hours hosted by our ACE (Ansys Customer Excellence) team, where participants can:

    • Ask questions about the weekly challenge

    • Get guidance on lab exercises

    • Discuss best practices and real-world application

Weekly Breakdown

Week 1: Foundations & Orientation

  • Onboard into the virtual lab environment

  • Learn the fundamentals of AI-powered design

  • Complete a guided foundational lab aligned to your chosen track

Outcome: Confidence navigating the environment and understanding where AI adds value.

Week 2: Application & Exploration

  • Apply AI-powered techniques to realistic design scenarios

  • Compare AI-assisted and traditional approaches

  • Analyze results and tradeoffs

Outcome: Hands-on experience using AI to support better design decisions.

Week 3: Optimization & Impact

  • Complete an advanced optimization or decision challenge

  • Interpret outcomes and design improvements

  • Connect learning to real-world use cases

Outcome: A clear understanding of how to apply AI-powered design in your own projects.

What to Expect

After submitting a request and receiving approval, participants will receive an email invitation with detailed access instructions for the browser-based virtual lab environment (up to 5 hours), along with weekly ACE-led office hours for expert guidance. Where applicable, optional reporting support is available to help summarize participation and outcomes for management review
