Sustainable Modular Building Exploration with the Ansys Granta EduPack Software
The built environment makes up the surroundings of our daily life. At the same time, it has considerable environmental consequences. Many buildings are made of steel and concrete, which are two of the most environmentally impacting construction materials. Developing other infrastructure, such as roads, airports and railways contributes to impact the environment, too. Other construction materials, such as bricks, insulation material, and roof tiles are also important in this context, as their manufacture can have negative environmental impacts as well. In this case study, we explore the carbon emissions on one of the increasingly popular building elements, lightweight exterior infill walls, using the uses Ansys Granta EduPackTM, a teaching software for materials education and its Eco Audit tool.
