Ansys GeomAI introduces a powerful new way for engineers and designers to ideate geometry using artificial intelligence, transforming how we think about the optimization workflow itself. In the 2026 R1 release, GeomAI enables teams to learn directly from existing design data and generate new geometric concepts that preserve proven design language while expanding the design space far beyond traditional parametric approaches.
GeomAI trains AI models on reference geometries explicitly provided by users. From these examples, a latent design space emerges that captures underlying geometric patterns, structural variations. Engineers and designers can then generate entirely new designs by adjusting a small set of parameters without manually creating complex geometric parameters or rebuilding CAD models. This makes GeomAI especially powerful for exploring variations in shape and topology that are otherwise difficult or time-consuming to model.
These AI-driven geometry models can be used in multiple ways: for interactive concept exploration, as part of automated optimization loops. When combined with performance evaluation tools such as Ansys solvers, Ansys SimAI, or response surfaces, GeomAI enables optimization directly in the AI design space, allowing teams to search for improved designs based on real engineering metrics.
With GeomAI 2026 R1, Ansys empowers engineering teams to bridge the gap between design intent and performance-driven innovation, accelerating early-stage exploration and enabling smarter, faster decisions across the product development life cycle.
