In June of this year, Ansys welcomed Stefanos Chatziangelidis, the former CEO of Beta CAE Americas and India, to our family. Most recently, Stefanos was a part of Cadence, which acquired Beta CAE in 2024. Stefanos will serve as a Distinguished Engineer in the Ansys Customer Excellence organization.

Stefanos is an industry veteran with more than two decades of experience with Beta CAE. From the very beginning of his tenure there, Stefanos pursued not just technical excellence, but also commercial impact — progressing from hands-on technical roles to senior leadership positions focused on expanding customer accounts and winning new prospects.

A key turning point came in 2007, when Stefanos took on a leadership role in Europe. In this capacity, he drove exponential growth in one of Europe’s most demanding markets. His focus on understanding and meeting customer needs led to substantial growth and further adoption of simulation tools.

Stefanos continued to drive customer success across multiple industries, applications, and geographies. He and his teams were able to achieve this through an in-depth understanding of customer workflows and tailored solutions backed by high-quality engineering support and technology.

Collaboration Key to Customer Success

As a Distinguished Engineer, Stefanos will contribute to pre- and post-processing workflow strategies. He will collaborate closely with key customers and partners to solve their most complex engineering challenges. He will operate globally and across all relevant industry verticals, with a focus on the automotive industry.

Stefanos is looking forward to working with product design and manufacturing organizations that are looking to transform their development processes and data workflows from a legacy, physical-prototype-based process to an agile digital validation model. This digital transformation enables customers to bring products to market faster with less risk than competitors, enabling them to innovate rapidly without overspending or compromising quality. He will also show how Ansys simulation products can help customers predict and mitigate risks by creating high-quality products on time that meet requirements and enhance the brand, while improving revenue and company financial performance. And, of course, he will share his knowledge on how organizations can increase efficiency and productivity by designing and delivering complex and innovative products that achieve cost targets while streamlining engineering activities that optimize people, processes, and technology.

Ansys technology stack

“We are excited to welcome Stefanos to the Ansys team,” says Anthony Dawson, VP of Customer Excellence at Ansys. “His deep technical expertise and industry insight make him a tremendous asset as we continue to deliver simulation solutions that drive innovation and impact across industries.”

Ansys offers a broad portfolio of products that address multiphysics, multidisciplinary, and multidomain workflows. Our global customers benefit from advanced numerical simulation across engineering disciplines, bridging the gap from multiphysics simulation to digital engineering solutions. Stefanos will help our customers transform their complex engineering challenges into competitive advantages with Ansys solutions.

Work and Family Life

Born and raised in Greece, Stefanos studied Aeronautical Engineering in London before building an international career that brought him to the U.S., where he continues to work at the intersection of advanced engineering and emerging technologies.

Outside the office, he is the father of two boys. The eldest is a Central USA wrestling champion and a Michigan state champion in both Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling; not to mention a talented soccer player and a great student. His youngest son is gearing up to follow in his brother’s footsteps this year.

Stefanos describes himself as a lifelong "petrol head.” He is passionate about fast cars, bikes, and anything that delivers speed and adrenaline. In his downtime, he enjoys scuba diving, target shooting, and exploring new cuisines.

“Ansys is a global leader in simulation and has a proven track record of operating as a trusted advisor and technology partner to companies across the world,” says Stefanos. “I’m excited to join the Company, and I look forward to making a lasting impact to our customer success and business.”
