Introducing the New Short Fiber Composites Workflow with Ansys Mechanical

Ansys’ partnership with CoreTech and their Moldex3D product, developed for plastic injection molding, provides best-in-class technology in Ansys 2021 R1 through the new workflow for short fiber composite components. In this webinar, we will showcase the short fiber workflow, which includes three-dimensional fiber orientations from Moldex3D that are imported and mapped seamlessly into Ansys Mechanical. In the process we capture material behavior through multiscale analysis with Ansys Material Designer. Joining us will be a representative from Thyssenkrupp Presta, one of the largest manufacturers of automotive steering systems, discussing how they used composites to reduce their product weight by 50% compared to an aluminum cast component. This reduction is critical in light of the new, strict environmental standards influencing the future of the automotive field.
