Westinghouse Simulates Emission-Free Microreactor

Nuclear solution can generate emission-free electricity for 8+ years.

Westinghouse is using Ansys simulation software to design eVinci, a first-of-its-kind nuclear microreactor that can provide emission-free electricity where it is needed. The microreactor can be transported where power is needed, such as remote locations, for disaster relief, industrial operations, and maybe even into space. So you can appreciate surviving that environment for almost two weeks at that temperature is very, very hard for any conventional technology to support the space and vision we have for humanity. This product is going to be critical for those applications. So we’re really excited to be able to offer that in a timeframe that’s realistic and achievable with the use of Ansys products.”
