Tim Mcdonald Headshot

Tim McDonald is the President of EMA. EMA is a leading developer of technologies for engineering simulation. EMA’s engineering specialty is in applied electromagnetics. In this domain, EMA provides software and services to promote the design, certification, and performance of our customers’ products. Dr. McDonald supports EMA3D® users around the world from multiple industries. Dr. McDonald previously led consulting engagements for NASA and DoD major primes about specialty engineering of critical systems, development of novel solutions to electromagnetic compatibility problems, and the execution of major programs that require verification of electromagnetic environmental effects. Dr. McDonald holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics and Applied Math from Columbia University in the City of New York.


Kevin-Druis Merenda is a Staff Scientist at Electro Magnetic Applications, Inc (EMA), where he is the Product Manager for EMA3D® Charge. He joined EMA in 2020 to apply his atmospheric electricity and elementary particle physics background to impactful industry projects. Kevin has participated in extensive physics experiments such as the NA62 and LHCB experiments at CERN, and the Pierre Auger Cosmic-Ray Observatory, in Argentina. Kevin has presented at conferences and published journal articles studying lightning-induced transient luminous events. His knowledge of numerical methods, approach to problem diagnostics, and data analysis skills are directly applicable to consulting projects involving EMA3D® Cable and EMA3D® Charge, the software products developed by EMA.
