I joined Ansys in February 2024. I started as an intern in the electronics, semiconductor, optical business unit (ESOBU), contributing to Ansys AVxcelerate software and redesigning the Sensor Labs application with a focus on user experience.

Before Ansys, I worked in luxury fashion at Givenchy and Acne Studios, supporting the Atelier and Fabrics teams during fashion shows and collection launches. Transitioning to tech was a leap, but one I welcomed with curiosity. I enjoy exploring new fields and continuously expanding my skills.

How I’d Explain My Job to a Kindergartener

Imagine someone who watches how people use a tool — paying close attention to what works, what doesn’t, and how it makes them feel. That person sketches out ideas to make the tool easier and more enjoyable to use. Those ideas are then brought to life, turning into real features that improve the experience for everyone.

What I Actually Do

As a user experience (UX) designer in ESOBU, I design user interfaces for both new and existing Ansys applications — from early wireframes to final icons. I also support front-end implementation and often help troubleshoot and resolve design-related bugs.

In addition to interface design, I conduct usability studies and review workflows to ensure we deliver intuitive and consistent user experiences. I’m also actively involved in Ansys culture through events such as the UX Summit and intern recruitment. Sharing knowledge and building connections is a key part of what drives me.

Why I Choose Ansys

Joining Ansys was a combination of timing and opportunity. I had just completed a career change program when I came across the internship posting. I applied and didn’t think much of it — until I got the call.

My internship manager, who also came from a nontraditional background, saw potential in me and gave me a chance. That opportunity opened the door to a new chapter, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support that helped launch my journey.

Our ONE Ansys Culture

What I value most about working at Ansys is the variety of products and the flexibility in how we approach our work. There’s no one-size-fits-all process, which allows us to adapt to different challenges and tailor our solutions to meet specific needs. This adaptability fosters creativity and collaboration, giving us the freedom to explore new ideas and continuously improve how we work and what we deliver.

Sense of Belonging

What has made a meaningful difference for me is having the space — both physically and mentally — to shape my own workflow. I’ve felt trusted to bring new ideas, share my perspective, and contribute meaningfully to my team.

That sense of autonomy has helped me feel valued and included, reinforcing a strong sense of belonging in my day-to-day work.

Our Shared Values

If I had to choose one Ansys value that resonates most with me, it would be “Be Open.”

To me, this means embracing feedback, welcoming new ideas, and staying curious about different ways of working. Innovation starts with openness — to people, tools, and perspectives that challenge the norm.

Fulfilling Our Mission

I’m focused on promoting user experience best practices across the organization — through Advanced Design System (ADS), analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and Ansys Web Components (AWCs) — while ensuring consistency in our designs. We collaborate closely with users through Ansys Customer Excellence (ACE) and with developers, product managers, and product owners to co-create solutions that are both effective and intuitive.

It’s all about alignment and teamwork to support Ansys’ broader mission of enabling innovation and delivering meaningful impact.

My Best Advice

I encourage new team members to be curious — ask questions, explore other teams, and don’t hesitate to share your ideas. That openness can lead to unexpected opportunities and insights.

I also recommend staying adaptable. Every project and team are different, and your flexibility will help you grow, learn quickly, and make a meaningful impact.

Getting Involved

I participate in the UX Summit and intern recruitment events and share my journey as a former intern. Being involved helps me feel more connected and shows me that my voice matters. Whether it’s giving a presentation on UX methods, supporting others in career transitions, or sharing my story, I embrace these opportunities to grow and contribute.

What You Might Not Know

I’m a Triceramisu — a mix between a dinosaur and a dessert — and I ride a Yamaha XSR700. I’m on a mission to make “voilà voilà” a thing across Ansys, and it’s catching on. I wake up early just to sit by the beach and watch the sunrise in silence. I hike mountains, get lost, and somehow always find my way back. My motto: Trust the process.

Just for you. We have some additional resources you may enjoy.
