Overview

Early-stage design evaluation of thermo-fluid systems requires a fast simulation program to provide quick insights into several ideas & concepts. Ansys Thermal Desktop offers unique capabilities for analyzing and sizing such systems and components.

Ansys Thermal Desktop’s flexibility in combining multiple fidelities and various solver methods within the same model provides a remarkable advantage, especially for simulating long thermal and fluid transients, with reduced computational cost and much faster than conventional 3D CFD software. Its ability to connect with other Ansys products makes it powerful in handling complex CAD geometry, complex flow phenomenon, thermo-structural investigation, satellite orbital modeling, and design optimization. These capabilities assist in progressing from an early conceptual design to a more mature configuration before detailed CFD simulations.

This webinar is the first in a two-part series. It will cover an overview of Ansys Thermal Desktop, its capabilities, and its usage for simulating space propulsion systems and satellite thermal management applications.

The next part in this series will cover Ansys Thermal Desktop usage for other applications such as electronics cooling, refrigeration, automobiles, and healthcare.
