As part of the certification process, marine surface vessels and industrial floating structures undergo rigorous stability tests to insure the maximum safety and operability under extreme weather conditions.
In this on-demand webinar, we will demonstrate how computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis can be used to gain insight into the stability performance of a representative Navy vessel using Ansys Fluent. The free surface effects on the vessel were simulated using the Volume of Fluid Method, while the vessel motion was resolved using the 6-DOF solver.
