With increasing global concerns regarding energy consumption and environmental degradation, electric vehicles (EVs) have gained significant attention. Lithium‑ion batteries have become the predominant energy storage technology for EV applications due to their high specific energy, superior power capability, and proven reliability. Their widespread adoption has contributed to reduced greenhouse gas emissions and enhanced sustainability in transportation systems.
However, effective thermal management remains a critical challenge in the design and operation of lithium‑ion battery packs. Maintaining battery cells within a safe and optimal temperature range is essential to ensure reliable performance, operational safety, and extended service life. Consequently, numerical simulation methods are extensively utilized to analyze temperature distribution and thermal behavior in various battery pack configurations.
