Connecting MBSE to Spacecraft Modeling and Simulation

MBSE is gaining widespread adoption in the space industry, and with

this adoption, there is an increasing need to extend MBSE models to allow for connections with complex engineering analysis using modeling and simulation. We showcase a system analysis framework featuring an end-to-end digital workflow for a spacecraft constellation system. The framework incorporates an example MBSE model (requirements and architecture modeled with a SysML v2 editor) and system-level modeling and simulation of the space mission, the

thermal behavior of the spacecraft, and costs. Using a trade study example, we demonstrate how the system analysis framework allows for collaborative system modeling, system design, system analysis, and virtual verification of system requirements.
